About us
Built for the fund manager who is answerable to people at the dinner table
Abacus Administrators exists because the gap between a spreadsheet and a traditional fund administrator is far too wide for a fund raised among friends, family, and colleagues.
Why we started
A fund with a dozen investors and a few million dollars carries most of the same administrative obligations as one with a hundred investors and a few hundred million. Capital has to be called and recorded. Allocations have to follow the terms in the documents. Every investor is entitled to an accurate statement of their own account. None of that scales down just because the investors happen to be people you know.
What does not scale down is the cost. Traditional administrators are built around institutional mandates, quote on assets under management, and price accordingly. Faced with that, most small managers fall back to spreadsheets — which work until the day someone asks how a number was arrived at three years ago.
We built Abacus Administrators for that manager: a self-service platform with a real ledger behind it, a flat published price, and enough discipline in the records that the answer to "how did we get this figure" is always available.

Principles
How we operate
Accuracy before appearance
A capital account statement is only worth what the ledger behind it is worth. We build the ledger first and let the reporting follow from it.
Published pricing
Our prices are on the website. You should not have to sit through a sales process to learn what something costs.
Clear boundaries
We say plainly what the platform does and what it leaves to your counsel, accountant, and custodian. Overstated scope is how small funds get into trouble.
Your records are yours
Data export is available for the life of the subscription and on the way out. There is no hostage-taking in our commercial model.
Let's talk about your fund
Tell us how the fund is structured and where the administration currently hurts. We will be straightforward about whether we are the right fit.
